UPDATE 01/19/2016:
Will Smith's co-star, Aunt Viv, fires back at Jada!
UPDATE 01/22/2015:
Actress Stacey Dash responds with call to end BET programming...
Jada's husband and legendary actor, Will Smith, was overlooked by the Academy for his performance in "Concussion" (including many other roles) and Jada is flipping sh*t.
"Maybe it's time we pull back our resources and we put them back into our communities, and we make programs for ourselves that acknowledge us in ways that we see fit, that are just as good as the so-called mainstream."
Jada suggested,
"We can no longer beg for the love, acknowledgement or respect of any group."
Continuing on Twitter,
At the Oscars...people of color are always welcomed to give out awards...even entertain, (pt. 1)

But we are rarely recognized for our artistic accomplishments. Should people of color refrain from participating all together? (pt 2)

Jada made it clear ... she won't be attending the Oscars.
We must stand in our power! We must stand in our power.

She's not the only one, Spike Lee put his foot down as well.
"We cannot support it and [I] mean no disrespect ... But, how is it possible for the second consecutive year all 20 contenders under the acting category are white? And let's not even get into the other branches,"
Lee ranted on Instagram.
"Forty white actors in two years and no flava at all. We can't act?! WTF!!"
Both actors wisely decided to fight for these rights on none other than Martin Luther King Day.
Spike Lee added,
"Dr. King said, 'There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells him it's right,' "
Do you agree with them? Are the Oscars not giving fair game to all ethnicities?
