We knew that the shooter, Jimmy Carlton Winfrey, is Young Thug's manager and assumed that Wayne was shot at over his beef with Young Thug. Now, investigators claim it was a well planned out plot to kill Lil Wayne by none other than his boss, Birdman!
Wayne and Birdman have been having their issues. Birdman and Cash Money are not releasing Wayne's music and he wants out. And it seems "out" is exactly what Birdman allegedly may be trying to do.
The indictment of the shooting has been released, which claims that Jimmy Winfrey, aka Peewee Roscoe, called Young Thug prior to shooting up Lil Wayne’s tour bus in April, and then calling Birdman immediately following the incident. The entire document can be read here. This is getting real ugly, real quick.
And according to TMZ, adding further suspicion, after that call Winfrey drove to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel ... where Wayne's entourage stopped after the shooting. Cops don't say it in the indictment, but the insinuation is Winfrey was told to go finish the job ... but as we reported, police had met Wayne's entourage at the hotel to investigate the shooting.
After the indictment was released, Young Thug was arrested Thursday morning on charges of drugs and weapons but has not been charged in the Wayne shooting.

Now, Birdman is suing Jay-Z who has been streaming Lil Wayne's music on his server, TIDAL. Claiming that Wayne has no right to licence his music to Hov. Birdman now wants 50 mil.
This is just getting uglier and uglier.
