Jay-Z who's real name is Shawn Carter is planning on coming up with a book to explain his music lyrics. The rapper is close to signing a deal if he accepts an offer from executives at Spiegel & Grau, an imprint of Random House publishers.

The New York Observer reports that Matthew Guma who is Jay-Z's literary agent, is in the final negotiation stages for a tome of commentary, where the artist will explain the thinking behind some of his most famous tracks. It is said to consist of commentary and stories.

From what I know so far, the publication date is unknown, but his next album, The Blueprint III is due to be released on September 11, 2009.

It looks like Justin Timberlake wants to bring sexy back…to golf! David Vigliano, literary agent for such luminaries as Clay Aiken and Shannon Doherty has been shopping a proposal on behalf of Timberlake. Rumor has it that the book will be a memoir, detailing rounds played by the former boy bander and those he has played with. Timberlake is a regular on the charity golf circuit and owns a golf course (environmentally friendly!) in Millington, Tennessee.

Which would you read?
