Just hours ago in Russia a ginormous light illuminated the sky on a dark night. What in the world was this mysterious flash???
REZH,
Russia –
A Russian motorist said he was driving on a road near
Yekaterinburg in the evening of Nov. 14 when the flash of light caused
the sky to glow orange and red.
"I found nothing about it in the news.
Did anyone else see it? What was it?" the man posted online.

The flash, which was also recorded on
cellphone camera by some witnesses in Rezh, inspired rumors of a meteor or a
missile explosion, but a local observatory said no objects were reported to
have fallen from the sky Nov. 14.
The local Emergencies Ministry declined to
comment on the videos.
"No exercise and training were underway
on that day, and no military units are based in the region, so we have nothing
to do with it," the military press service told a Russian news site.
Viktor Grokhovsky, a member of the Russian
Academy of Sciences' meteorite committee, said the flash may have resulted from
a falling space object that burned up above the clouds.
Russian news site URFO suggested
the flash could have resulted from an explosion at the nearby Rezhevskoy
chemical plant but none have been confirmed.
