Classic R&B Singer, Teena Marie Passes Away At 54 (Still Developing)

Teena Marie's mgr and Sheila E. have been confirming on Twitter this is true.

CNN's @donlemoncnn also confirmed via Twitter:

cnn has confirmed from teena marie's manager that she has died.

The rumors started on WDAS radio in Philadelphia. Radio Producer Sunshine Brown (wife of WDAS, DJ Tony Brown) has said that she has it from a good source that it is true. Ronald Isley has announced on his Twitter page that he has heard it to be true, also.

“Just found out a friend, Tina (sic) Marie passed away. I really did’t expect to hear this. RIP. We will miss you much!”

Isley tweeted this evening.

Sheila E. posted a series of tweets that reflected similar news:

“Her daughter found her in her bedroom already passed. she had seizers (sic) prior too this passing. please pray for her family,”

Sheila posted.

“They just took her body from her home. Teena Marie found dead by her daughter whos BD (birthday) was yesterday. pray 4 her & her family.”

Hours before her death, Teena tweeted

"May You never grow old, and may I never die"...

Spooky how that always happens huh...speaking of death before you die. Also her daughter, who found her dead, turned 19 the day before. *sigh*

TMZ says Teena passed away in her sleep.

Aww..by the way my nickname "Lady T" was Teena Marie's nickname 1st and she was a four-time Grammy nominee! R.I.P Ms. Teena.

Her death was briefly reflected on her Wikipedia page, but was taken down within an hour.

It seems to be now confirmed though.
