Jailed rapper Lil Wayne has been placed in solitary confinement after music equipment was found in his cell.
Word is Weezy was caught with headphones and an MP3 player charger at New York City's Rikers Island prison. Another inmate was discovered hiding an MP3 player.
If you remember we reported here that this happened back in May but it was not clear if Weezy was punished for it or not. The items were discovered in May and a decision has now been made about how to punish the star. Weezy had stashed an I-Pod in a crisp packet (like for potato chips) in the bin in his cell, according to prison officials.
Looks like it will not affect his release date though.
Wayne will be confined for up to 23 hours a day until he is released on November 4, insiders say.
'He will not be allowed to mingle with other inmates – ever,'a Corrections Department insider says.
As you know, Weezy has been writing to fans and everyone via his website.
Here's his last letter to his fans from jail:
Hello world. Time is ticking and I’m counting every second. Because of my new limitations, this unfortunately has to be my last letter. I don’t think people truly understand how much their thoughts and well wishes have helped me through this time in my life. Not everyone is as lucky as I am and it humbles me daily. You would be amazed what positivity can do in a negative environment. I’m going to miss reading about your lives. I’m going to miss looking at the pictures. They were the highlight of my days aside from speaking with my kids. Don’t stress over this in 27 days, the ride starts again.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who is supporting I Am Not A Human Being. It amazes me each time people go out and support my music. I’ll always be in debt to you for that. Keep rocking your “Free Weezy
