Rihanna toasted the arrival of the new decade by performing in Abu Dhabi.
While many of her celebrity friends were celebrating the New Year in the Caribbean and Las Vegas, the 21-year-old singer was in concert in the United Arab Emirates.

Just before midnight, Rihanna led the audience in a countdown before the sky was full of a spectacular firework display.While she had little interaction in the crowd, her occasional shout of 'Abu Dhabi' sent the crowd into a frenzy.
Earlier this week, organisers denied reports they had asked Rihanna to tone down her stage show for fear of offending the Arab audience.
It had also been reported Rihanna would have to obtain a special license if she wanted to drink champagne in her dressing room because the sale of alcohol is heavily regulated.

In a recent interview, Rihanna said she had a long list of resolutions for 2010.
She said: 'I want to stop shopping, being late, start waking up early, stuff like that. I’d like to see my mum and grandparents more...."
