Rumors have it that Beyonce will not be performing at the 2009 BET Awards if former Destiny’s Child member Letoya Luckett is booked to perform.

Earlier this month, the net went nuts with news that Beyonce's father, Matthew Knowles, was plotting to sabotage Letoya's career. Just to back track just a bit, Letoya once upon a DC time was one of the original members of the Platinum selling power-house group, Destiny's Child. As we all know, that is where Beyonce gained notoriety before she decided to branch out and go solo.

Fast forwarding to earlier this month when rumors broke out about Matthew giving BET an ultimatum; they either boot Letoya from the performance line-up or they can forget about Beyonce shaking her tail-feather on stage for their upcoming award ceremony.

The rumors have of course not been confirmed by Matthew or Beyonce's camp, but that doesn't mean it isn't alive.

Word sure does travel fast because eventually it ended up in Letoya's ears who decided to speak on the situation and express her thoughts on the sabotage rumors. Letoya responded with respect all the while showering Beyonce with compliments. She said she was saddened by the rumor and hope's that it is not true and understands by the end of the day that they are just rumors.

"It saddens me a little. Because our situation happened close to 10 years ago, and I think as we all know Bey is a very very very talented artist, and I think that we both have our own lanes and fanbase, and I don’t see why I would have to be one of the ones picked out of the entire crew of females that will be hitting the stage that night. I don’t know… I’m gonna try and word this right… I just don’t understand why I’m picked outta that group because there are so many other female artists performing’ that night and I think we all deserve to have a chance at that stage. Everybody works hard and we all have something different to offer, from Keyshia to Keri to Bey, everybody is different in their own ways so it saddens me if that’s true, and I hope that’s not the case but I’ll be there regardless."

In related news, Jay-Z has reportedly been added to the performance list of the 2009 BET Awards and is expected to perform his new song "D.O.A. (Death of Autotune)

The 2009 BET Awards will be hosted by comedian, actor andR&B music singer Jamie Foxx and will air Sunday, June 28th at 8PM/7PM CST.

Oh but there is MORE damage control from Beyonce's camp!!!!!!

While Beyonce is preparing to commence her “I Am…” World Tour in the U.S. this weekend, She has filed a pre-emptive lawsuit against those who might be thinking of selling unauthorized merchandise near her shows. Due to the fact that no specific individuals can be targeted, a warning has been put out, warning people not to try to pull any of that stuff near her concert. She needs her cut too right?
