Guess you can say you can't have your cake and eat it too.

Just days after Peyton Manning led his team, The Denver Broncos, to the Super Bowl he was faced with his closeted skeletons.

It all started again when Reporter, Shaun King, was sent some damaging information about Manning that resurrected a 13 year old story...

NY Post -

Thirteen years ago, USA Today obtained 74 pages of explosive court documents on Peyton Manning, Archie Manning, the University of Tennessee, and Florida Southern College that revealed allegations of a sexual-assault scandal, cover up, and smear campaign of the victim that was so deep, so widespread and so ugly that it would've rocked the American sports world to its core. Yet USA Today never released those documents for reasons I can't explain.

A doctor by the name of Dr. Jamie Naughright, a former director of health and wellness at Tennessee, that said Manning “forcefully maneuvered his naked testicles and rectum directly” on her face during a medical examination on Feb. 29, 1996, when Manning was a 19-year-old quarterback for the Volunteers.

Dr. Jamie Naughright  was an esteemed professional widely admired by students and peers alike at the University of Tennessee, where she was the Director of Health & Wellness for the Men's Athletic Program.

But somehow when she approached her supervisor to complain, she was merely told it was a "prank"...

Naughright said in the filing.
"I reported this to my supervisor, who referred to it as ‘merely a prank,' and no action was taken in regard to this until after I formally complained.”

Sporting News--

Naughright's formal complaints to the university and Manning's efforts to downplay the claims, leading to the unraveling of her once-promising professional career. In 2002, Naughright launched a defamation lawsuit against Manning, his father Archie Manning and a ghostwriter who helped author the book, "Manning: A Father, His Sons, and a Football Legacy," in which Naughwright — described only as a "female trainer" — was depicted in an unflattering manner.
In the court documents recovered by Sports Illustrated, a second lawsuit filed by Naughright against Manning was revealed, followed by a counter lawsuit from Manning.
According to the Daily News,

Under oath, the ghostwriter, John Underwood revealed that Archie Manning suggested to him that Naughright was going into the dorms and having sex with large numbers of black student athletes. After saying that she was up in the dorms with black students, Archie, states:

"And, she'd, she'd, been up in the dorm before, I mean hey, you know, they could have, you know, could have pulled off stuff on her too. Ah, she, toilet mouth, ah Peyton told me he never did like her, but he always did, cause what I'd told him to do, ah, I instructed him to be nice to the tr- … don't ever look down on a trainer or an equipment person you know."

According to the records, attorneys for Naughright drilled person after person, staff member after staff member, asking them to identify an instance where they heard Naughright use vulgar language. Not a single person could do so.

Additionally, the report said, Naughright's original complaint filed against Manning in a Polk County, Fla., trial court on May 29, 2002, did not explicitly refer to physical contact being made, but instead includes such language as “not merely mooning” and that the act was “of such an egregious nature as to be beyond the pale.”

The doctor went on to describe the encounter,
“He pulled his pants down and exposed himself to me, as I was bent over examining his foot after asking me personal questions,"
Manning rebutted the notion that he violated criminal law in his book, published in September 2000, when he admitted he acted “inappropriate” and “out of line” but instead intended to direct the lewd gesture toward a teammate.
Naughright's claim that Manning made contact did not come until a statement of facts was filed on Oct. 15, 2003. On Dec. 3 that year, Manning and Naughright reached a confidential settlement agreement resolving the defamation claim.
But it did not end there. It appears Manning may have breached his settlement contract and they ended up settling AGAIN!...
Sports Nation -
On Jan. 18, 2005, three weeks after ESPN aired a documentary called “ESPN Classic Sports Century: Peyton Manning," Naughright filed a second lawsuit against Manning claiming a breach of their settlement agreement.
According to SI, her attorneys wrote: "[ESPN’s show on Manning] contained a segment which depicted her photographically, rehashed issues which took place at the University of Tennessee, statements from Manning’s book and had juxtaposed thereafter statements by Manning that some people in the past had tried to take advantage of him or embarrass him. Thus, Naughright had again been the subject of an attack by innuendo."
Manning issued a counter lawsuit, saying that nothing was mentioned in the documentary that would be considered breach of their initial settlement, and the parties agreed to settle again in July 2005.
Sports Illustrated reported that the Florida case files for Naughright’s in-state lawsuits against Manning were “destroyed” on June 26, 2014, which is standard procedure in Florida 10 years after a judge rules a case closed.
Peyton Manny has such a squeaky clean image that makes this story get more and more interesting.

And why was this hidden for so long??
