This weekend, on February 7th, was the death anniversary of the legendary rapper, Big Pun.

Many friends and fellow rappers showed respect in their own ways...

Rapper Cuban Link paid tribute to his long time friend by performing one of his songs while in Orlando, Thursday night at Parallel Nightclub with TalkoftheTown411.com.

The Grammy nominated, Big Pun struggled with a weight problem for most of his life. On February 7, 2000, Big Pun suffered a fatal heart attack and respiratory failure while temporarily staying with family at a Crowne Plaza Hotel in White Plains, New York during a home renovation. Pun was pronounced dead at the hospital after paramedics could not revive him. Big Pun was at his highest weight at the time of his death: 698 pounds.

Cuban Link and Big Pun both made guest performances on The Beatnuts' single "Off the Books" in 1997. They joined the local rap group Terror Squad. Cuban Link is also the person who wrote the single "Flowers for the Dead" in Pun's honor after his death.

Link is very well known for the infamous brawl he had with his one-time friend and team member, Fat Joe, which caused the massive scar across Cuban Link's face. After contract disputes between Joe and Link over the release of Pun's 24K album..... Cuban Link got in an altercation and had his face slashed when he was trying to break up a fight between Fat Joe and another rapper named Sunkiss.

But Link was all smiles Thursday night in Orlando -- partying along side his former Terror Squad team member, ArmageddonDj eLamentz and host Lady T in honor of Pun's death.
