Playboy boss Hugh Hefner has filed a lawsuit against Drake and I'm assuming the actual producer, Boi-1da who produced “Best I Ever Had”.

According to reports, Hefner is seeking compensation from the rapper because he sampled a song which is owned by his Playboy company.

In the beginning of Drake’s “Best I Ever Had” song, he used copy written material from Hamilton, Joe Frank and Reynolds’ “Fallin’ In Love” which Hef owns the rights to.

As part of their copyright claim, Playboy claims that Drake and his crew “knew or should have reasonably known, that the sound recording was protected by copyright…” and that “each Defendant continues to infringe upon Plaintiff’s rights in and to the copyrighted sound recording.” Sounds like Playboy is trying to cash in on Drake’s recent hit album. This happens all the time, the owner of the original sample will wait long amounts of time (aka wait till more money racks in) to come out and sue for what's theirs.

Playboy wants the court to issue an injunction, to stop the selling and distribution of the song, and to stop capitalizing off of it.

The sample is in the beginning of "Best I Ever Had,"

You can hear both songs below:

I'll keep you posted.
